Maintenance near Washington DC

Postby earsom » Tue Mar 15, 2016 7:02 pm

Hi folks,
I'm looking for a shop that will work on Hillers in the DC/Baltimore area. I have a UH12B/C. Any ideas?

There's a shop in Salem that has extensive Hiller experience Summit Helicopters 540-992-5500 they do all the maintenance on my E model. About 4 hrs via 66W and 81S. About 10 minutes less if you fly it:)

I also know a guy here who might actually come to you. I've not asked him but I will if you want he's an A&P IA with early Hiller experience as a pilot and mechanic.

Hi all,
Thanks for the responses. The search continues for a good mechanic who isn't too busy. Had one guy I really liked in northern VA, but he just wanted to work on turbines so I continually got bumped to the back of the line. Another company in eastern PA did okay work and prices were reasonable, but they were using my aircraft to learn how to do a track and balance. My next attempt will be a company in DE that does a lot of helo work. They won't be cheap, but if they can do a T&B it will be worth it. If that doesn't work out I guess I'll try Salem, so thanks for the recommendation!
